Account & Data Deletion
The Gita Project lets you sign in so your favourites and reading progress sync across devices. You can request deletion of your entire account, or just specific data, at any time.
Delete your entire account
Email sai@thegitaproject.world with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your account so we can identify it.
After we verify the request, we will delete your account along with your profile information, synced favourites, reading progress, and notification preferences, and confirm when the process is complete.
Delete specific data without deleting your account
You may instead request deletion of specific data while keeping your account active. This can include:
- Synced favourites
- Reading progress
- Profile information
- App preferences
- Notification preferences
Email sai@thegitaproject.world with the subject "Data Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your account and specify which data you want deleted.
After we verify the request, we will delete the selected data and confirm when the process is complete. Your account will remain active unless you request full account deletion.
Data we may retain
Certain information may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud prevention, or compliance purposes. Any retained information will be limited to what is necessary.
If you never signed in
You can use the app without signing in. In that case your favourites, reading progress, and preferences are kept under an anonymous account that has no name, email, or other personal detail attached, so nothing in it can be connected back to you.
Because that account is anonymous, we have no way to find it from an email request. Uninstalling the app removes its data from your device and permanently disconnects the anonymous account.
You can also turn off usage analytics at any time with the "Share usage analytics" switch in Profile.
